Sculpture

Sculpture commissioning is provided for your project through the following method:

Planning and Programming - To start, I will learn about your specific interests. I will consider the space where it will be placed, the concepts it is intended to convey, and the budget for its development, delivery, and installation. I will then evaluate the materials to be used and determine if the sculpture has a functional aspect, such as illumination or physical movement.

Designing - When I design a project, I consider the location, history, concepts, and culture to develop an idea and then work out the form in a “Red Sketch”. Once a design is determined, a maquette will be created to review the form and the color selection.

Construction Documents - In this phase, the materials, structure, and connection details are developed and placed in the construction drawings relative to your site.

Constructing - Depending on the complexity of the sculpture, I will either create the piece myself, collaborate with a fabricator to construct it, or oversee the process if the fabricator does the work themselves. Once the fabrication is completed, it will receive the proper finish, be assembled, then prepared for installation. The Owner will be give an opportunity to review the piece before it is installed. At the same time, the site will be prepared for a footing with anchor bolts or fasteners that will hold the sculpture in place.

Installation - I will find the best way to deliver and install your piece at your site without blemish.
